Conventional Medical Practice
Board certified in family
practice Dr. Dayton provides routine office examinations and urgent,
maintenance and preventive therapeutic care for adults, adolescents and
children. As a primary physician he coordinates care with specialists in
complicated cases. He is affiliated with hospital care at Aventura Hospital
and Medical Center, several minutes ride by car from the Dayton Medical
Center. Access to specialty facilities and university medical schools are
also available. Nearby ocean front motel and hotel accommodations are
available for patients visiting from out of town.
Diagnostic services
include pap smears; prostate examinations; anoscopy: laboratory for blood
urine, hair, stool examination; cultures, EKG; skin biopsies; noninvasive
ultrasound examination.
Therapeutic services
include: pharmaceutical medication; physical therapy (sound, infrared,
electromagnetic, manual); muscle ligament and joint injection; office
surgery of skin lesions and lacerations; and counseling.
Second Opinion and
Research services are available for evaluating and planning individual
health strategies.
Insurance coverage for
conventional services is governed by the law and patient's agreements with
their respective insurance companies. Medicare, no fault insurance (motor
vehicle), and worker’s comp are accepted for payment for covered service.
Private pay insurance is accepted where applicable with advance agreement.
Insurance companies including Medicare do not cover all services. The doctor
does not participate in managed care plans, such as HMO, where the loyalty
of the doctor is split between the insurance company and patient. In such
cases the patient is usually required to pay out of pocket and collect any
due benefits from the managed care company.
