Insurance Information
Insurance may cover some of the above therapies and not others. Except in
cases where insurance is known to pay, the patient is expected to pay out
of pocket and seek to be reimbursed by the insurance company.
Insurance coverage for conventional services is governed by the law and
the agreements between the insurance companies. Medicare, no fault
insurance (motor vehicle), and worker’s comp are governmentally regulated
and accepted for payment for covered service. Private pay insurance is
accepted where applicable.
Insurance companies including Medicare do not cover all services. The
doctor does not participate in managed care plans, such as HMO, where the
loyalty of the doctor is split between the insurance company and patient.
In such cases the patient is usually required to pay out of pocket and
collect any due benefits from the managed care company.
